# Sidebar and Top Bar: Navigate Collivo

> Move between pages, switch organizations, keep work close with Starred and Recent, and set your status.

## What this helps you do

The sidebar is in the same place on every page. Use it to move around Collivo, start new work, return to projects you use often, and switch between organizations. The top bar shows what needs your attention.

## Move between pages

The sidebar lists Collivo's main pages:

*  **Home** — your tasks, approvals, and recent work. See [Home](https://docs.collivo.com/find-your-way/home.md).
*  **AI Chats** — start or continue a quick chat outside a project.
*  **Projects** — every project you can open.
*  **Circles** — team channels and direct messages. See [Circles](https://docs.collivo.com/collaborate/team-chat.md).
*  **Spaces** — the spaces that group your projects. See [Spaces](https://docs.collivo.com/organize/spaces.md).

Near the bottom are **Help & resources** (see [Help menu and tours](https://docs.collivo.com/find-your-way/help-and-tours.md)) and **Settings**, with your account below them.

## Switch organizations

If you belong to more than one organization, use the organization switcher at the top of the sidebar to choose where you are working. Projects, spaces, members, and settings all belong to the organization you have selected, so check it before creating or sharing work. ## Start something new

Select  **Create New**, then choose:

* **Quick Chat** — opens a new AI chat that is not tied to a project.
* **New Project** — opens the project form over the page you are on.

## Keep work close with Starred and Recent

* **Starred** — projects you have starred, sorted by name. Star a project from the **Projects** page or from its menu under **Recent**.
* **Recent** — the projects you opened most recently, newest first.

Hover a project and open its menu  for quick actions. Under **Starred** you can **Unstar** it, open **View Details**, **Share Project**, or **Delete Project**. Under **Recent** you can **Star** it, or select **Delete Recent** to take it off the list without changing the project.

Select the **Starred** or **Recent** heading to collapse or expand that list.

## Make room on the screen

Press **Ctrl / Cmd** + **B** to collapse the sidebar to icons, and again to expand it. Hover an icon to see its name. Collivo remembers your choice the next time you open it.

In a narrow window, the sidebar is hidden. Select the sidebar button in the top bar to open it.

## Set your status

Your name and email are at the bottom of the sidebar. Select them to open your account menu, then:

* **Set status** — show teammates you are **Away**, **Do Not Disturb**, **Busy**, **In a Meeting**, or on **Vacation**. Select **Clear status** to remove it.
* **Set status message...** — add a short message of up to 100 characters, then press **Enter**.

Your status shows under your name and stays set until you change it. The same menu links to your **Profile**, security, and other account settings.

## Check what needs attention

The top bar on most pages shows:

*  **Requests** — access and review requests waiting on you, with a count badge. Select it to open the **Requests** page. See [Reviews and approvals](https://docs.collivo.com/collaborate/reviews-approvals.md).
*  **Notifications** — recent activity that involves you. See [Manage notifications](https://docs.collivo.com/collaborate/notifications.md).

Inside a project, a  **Milestones** button also opens the project's milestones. See [Kanban boards](https://docs.collivo.com/collaborate/kanban-boards.md#track-milestones).

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Ctrl / Cmd** + **K** opens search in Circles, which finds messages and conversations. To find files, use the search in a project's **Files** pane.

## Expected result

You can reach any part of Collivo from the sidebar, return to frequent projects in one selection, and see at a glance whether anything is waiting on you.

## Troubleshooting

* **A project is missing from Recent:** it lists only projects you have opened recently. Find it on the **Projects** page, then star it to keep it close.
* **You cannot see a project or space you expected:** check the organization switcher. You may be in a different organization.
* **The sidebar disappeared:** press **Ctrl / Cmd** + **B**, or widen the window. In a narrow window, use the sidebar button in the top bar.
